Xavier talks about the organization of the Festival "à Sahel Ouvert" to support the economic development of the desertic areas of Africa through art and culture and of the project of opening, in the future, the first African art school ever. Xavier Simonin, 46 years old, was born in Niort, France. He spent his childhood in Africa in the 70s. Today, he lives in Paris, when he is not on tour.
He has been working as actor and comedian in theaters for more than 25 years.
He is the main character of Pilule Alpha, the first interactive short film to be realized by the French director Vincent Diderot and presented to the Cannes Film Festival, in 2016.
He has been artistic director for comedy theater’s festivals in some famous theaters in Paris, such as Olympia (Paris fait sa comédie) and Zénith (Juste pour rire).
In 2011 he staged and played in « L’or » together with Jean Jacques Milteau.
The show had a great success among the public and the critics. After 5 years of performances, he celebrated with the coming back of the show in Paris in the 2016-2017 season.
In 2010 he created and directed the « Festival à Sahel ouvert », a huge humanitarian operation supporting the Senegalese culture.
