Описание: Gary Cooper and Patricia Neal lived one of the most heartbreaking love affairs in the history of Hollywood. They met for the first time in mid-1948, when they were both cast in King Vidor’s «The Fountainhead.» Although he was 47 (and married!) and she was only 22, they were instantly infatuated with each other and the sexual tension between the two was flagrant during filming. Their love affair began soon after «The Fountainhead» finished production. To avoid scandal that could damage both of their careers, they kept the romance as discreet as possible.

In late 1950, Patricia discovered that she was pregnant. At the time, having a child out of wedlock was unacceptable, especially for someone who was under the public eye. So, she had an abortion and regretted that decision for as long as she lived. Gary and Patricia's relationship did not survive this and they broke up less than a year later.

For as heartbreaking as their relationship was, I truly believe that they loved each other. It was the circumstances of life (and of that time) that didn't allow them to live their love the way they wanted.
