As a writer, his work lies at the intersection of medicine, diversity, and sociology. He has been published in the New York Times, Globe and Mail, the Vancouver Sun, and Huffington Post. An advocate for diversity and inclusion, he was a speaker at the Atlantic Immigration Summit in St. John’s.

Dr. Ogunyemi earned a BSc in Sociology & Medical Science from Western University before graduate studies in epidemiology and medical school at Memorial University, where he served as Medical Student Society President, followed by specialization in Dermatology at UBC where he was named Chief Resident and Royal College Convocation Speaker.

He has served in leadership positions within many medical organizations and has won a number of national and international awards for accomplishments in research, advocacy, academics, writing and leadership.
