This is my weekend long ride as part of my Ironman 140.6 training build.
Riding Road to Sky and climbing Alpe du Zwift with a controlled aerobic effort.
This session was focused on endurance, pacing, and efficiency — not racing.
Compared to a similar ride in November:
Alpe time improved from ~92–93 min to ~86 min
Average heart rate dropped by ~10–15 bpm
Normalized Power stayed around ~163 W
Power delivery was smoother with fewer surges
Lower cardiovascular and fatigue cost
This shows real aerobic efficiency gains, supported by better fueling and pacing.
