The optical design of the SIGMA 28-70mm F2.8 DG DN | Contemporary lens, is based on the 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN | Art lens

This lens I used in the review comes with Sony E mount and fits in to Sony full frame cameras and my A6600 cropped sensor camera.

Manual focus ring is very smooth and does a very good job.

AF motor is very fast and quickly shift the focus from close to far
AF is just very fasts and accurate even in low light conditions – potter’s studio
For studio work – say for shooting people, the lens does a great job! – model shoot

The background separation is too good in f/2.8
9-blade polygonal rounded diaphragm for a smooth round shaped bokeh effects

Lens construction: 16 elements in12 groups, with 2 FLD - Ultra Low Dispersion elements, 2 SLD - Special Low dispersion elements and 3 aspherical elements -

Images are uniformly sharp from the centre to the edges of the frame
Super Multi-Layer Coating and Nano Porous Coating means well-controlled flare for high-contrast results in backlit conditions. - Minimal flare and ghosting

Good separation of highlights and shadows in high contrast subject in backlight – Temple silhouette

Thorough correction of axial chromatic aberration and sagittal coma aberration avoids chromatic aberrations in backlight shots.

70mm portrait is negligibly softer than a 28mm portrait.
