Sigma 20 mm F/1.4 DG DN Art lens for Sony - tamil review by KLR the photo guru

For the review purpose, I tested the lens in all possible challenging situations using my Sony A7RIII and Sony A7RIV in Switzerland and France.

Like the other SIGMA's DG DN Art line lenses, the new SIGMA 20mm F1.4 DG DN | Art shows an outstanding performance.
The SIGMA 20mm F1.4 DG DN | Art is destined to be a favorite of landscape, astro, architectural, wide-angle portraits, documentary, street and wedding photographers, filmmakers, vloggers - anyone who requires a versatile, wide angle of view with minimal distortion and outstanding low-light capability.

The following are my observation about this lens:
Incredible image quality from corner to corner
Stunning wide angle of view with minimal distortion

AF is just very fast & accurate even in low light conditions and outstanding continuous focus in action shots

The colour rendering is amazing and images from this lens are stunningly sharp

Like the other SIGMA's DG DN Art line lenses, there is a conventional manual aperture ring for easy exposure adjustments especially while shooting video.

The manual aperture ring has a lock to prevent accidental rotation of the aperture ring. There is an aperture ring click switch for the feel of rotation.
**I loved it for, it gave me the exact feel of using the time-old film camera lenses.

The new MFL, Manual Focus Lock switch prevents accidental movement of the manual focus ring while shooting in MF (Astro and architectural photography)
Aperture f/1.4 gives very good BG and foreground separation with a natural bokeh effect
The minimum focusing distance is 9.1inch look at the images of tiny little flowers

The portraits shot with this lens had a super appeal with the larger background are that are suggestively out of focus. This lens could be comfortably used in wedding scenarios as well.
High-precision, durable brass bayonet mount. - robust build quality with a dust and splash-resistant construction especially, the mount and focusing ring making this lens an all-terrine lens!

SIGMA's DG DN Art line lens has 17elements in 15 groups
Sigma's 'Super Multi-Layer Coating has also been applied to keep any flare under control, especially against light shots. The chromatic aberrations in backlight shots are almost not there.

The water and oil repellent coating of the front element keeps the lens safe even in challenging shooting environments.

Good separation of highlights and shadows in high contrast subject in backlight without highlights bleeding into the shadows.

Comes with a sturdy petal-type lens hood and a filter size - 82mm

The lens also comes with a rear filter holder for adding multiple filters to suit a variety of shooting situations at an ultra-wide-angle perspective.

Being a f/1.4 lens, it is a bit heavy – Weight - 630g. It gave me a perfect balance with my Sony A7R3 attached with a vertical battery grip!
