NEW BUS ALERT! The official SamTrans XE40 has entered service on North Base routes 112!
I was very glad to be able to catch this bus on its first day, especially realizing that I’ve ran into a bus operator friend of mine! According to him he was driving the 112, 120 and 130 this morning.
As you can see, this bus is very different compared to the 40-foot Gillig buses, not just because of the seats, but also the layout and colors!
As expected, this bus sounds like MUNI and AC Transit XE40s, but you can hear the amazingly loud route announcement at around 10:43! Also, I realized that this bus has a slightly higher pitch when it comes to announcements!
