In this Video I show you how to cook a piece of steel black!
Please make sure to have your personal protection equipment on you, this process is dangerous to your health!
What you need:
250ml Hydrogen peroxide 3%
Teaspoon of salt
Tablespoon of white vinegar
Demineralized Water
A pot to cook in
a mixture glass
a brush/spray can
oil (doesnt matter which oil)
How to:
boil some demineralized water
mix hydrogen peroxide, salt and vinegar in a glass
brush it onto the bare (and degreased!) piece of metal, until it reaches golden brown color
quench the metal in boiling water, until it turns black
repeat these steps until desired level of black is reached
quench in fresh, cold destilled water
cure it in oil for around 12 hours
