I went to the ‪@ExpatsEverywhere‬ meetup in the Grande Hotel Porto on Santa Catarina and afterwards headed to Look.Sharp Cafe for the speed friending event! This event changed my entire trip from being alone to actually making friends! The next day, I went to Casa da Musica and met some cool YouTubers like ‪@tarotmanifestacao‬ and ‪@leadinglikealady‬ and spent the rest of the day with a gentlemen on the Architectours Porto walking tour and ended the night with my first date in Porto! Many more dates to come: some good, some bad, and some scary! Stay tuned as I continue my journey getting out of my comfort zone!

I moved from the USA to Porto, Portugal alone... for 30 days. Back in 2020, while we were all stuck in quarantine, I realized, I didn't want to feel stuck in the US. I live in the middle of nowhere, and there is nothing to do and no one my age to grow with. I wanted to travel the world, have new experiences in life, and once that option was taken away, I knew I needed to find a second option to live. While researching factors such as safety, weather, healthcare, quality of life, cost of living , etc., Portugal kept coming up as the best overall option. So, it sounds great on paper, but what is it really like? That's what I wanted to find out, by moving here for 30 days. I want to preface this by saying this is actually my third trip to Portugal, but I wanted to start this vlog channel with the most recent trip because I feel like it is the most important trip that I wanted to share with you guys first, and will work backwards on my previous trips to Lisbon (including Sintra and Cascais), Coimbra, and Porto (including the Douro valley and Braga) after this series.
