To save Gauss Rifle ammo, I used ER Large Lasers and Heavy Gauss Rifles only, while fighting off the medium mechs near Dropship-2-5. When dealing with the Sunders, I used my usual tactic of holding a line with my lancemates contributing fire at the same time as the enemy crosses over the point of max weapon range.

Near Dropship-2-4, I laid fire down to weaken the enemy Victors, knowing that the dropships and friendlies in the area were also contributing. When the Thanatos and Vultures entered the arena, I made sure to leave one of them standing, while taking up a position at Nav Delta. It's a risk; hoping that the dropship and remaining friendly mechs can hold their own, and hoping that Dropship-2-4 or the convoy doesn't get destroyed. As soon as the last mech goes down, it triggers the assault lance from the opposite direction.

Overlord Dropship-2-1's bay doors were jammed, so they were unable to deploy its battalion of mechs. That meant I had to deal with the incoming assault lance on my own. Since I already took up a good position, I killed the incoming Fafnir ASAP! One of the Maulers destroyed my lancemate's Atlas, but luckily he ejected to safety with minor injuries. I then killed all of the other mechs on the field and avenged the crew of Dropship-2-2, who were killed while trying to set down on Tharkad.
