Finally! Three months and over 500 tries later, I finally beat this mission! Unfortunately, I lost a 100-ton Fafnir which had 2 Heavy Gauss Rifles, but at least the pilot ejected to safety.

After MANY tries, this was the only time that I managed to save Peter Steiner-Davion. Taking out the tanks and the Overlord Dropship wasn't that difficult. If I would have remembered that my lancemates are unable to shoot at the dropship, I would have sent them to Nav Alpha. I actually didn't expect to beat this mission on this try, and it didn't go as smooth as some of my other tries where my gunnery and piloting was excellent yet Peter Steiner-Davion was killed before I could reach him.

The way to approach this mission is with lots of long range weapons and mechs configured to reach 50kph. Hope that the beginning of the mission goes smoothly, to where you're not getting targeted by all of the enemies on the field, and destroy all tanks and helicopters. Then while approaching Nav Beta, kill all mechs one at a time, really quickly! Hope that Peter Steiner-Davion doesn't get killed, and hope that he journeys down from the top of the hill, which makes it easier.
