~70 SOTA Activators | 2025 Oregon Campout!

Описание: Almost 70 SOTA Activators traveled to Crater Lake, OR for the 4th W7O SOTA Campout. A stunning location and great opportunity to see so many other activators from across North America. Sharing some of the highlights from this year's event, and please check out videl links to prior year events.

Many activators also activated #pota parks for this campout, and I've never seen so many Quansheng HT's LOL. Most used them for 2m / 70cm CW, and a few tried making SSB with them as well...it's fun to experiment and try new things especially with so many activators in one place. I was able to make my first Meshtastic QSO's on 915mhz with Clint KJ7LLS and Chris KI7JOM, including one 27 miles away. There were also others in the campground with Meshtastic devices and will be fun to use more at the next campout.

As of July 2025, the 2026 W7O Campout will be July 9th-12th near Bend, OR. Watch SOTA reflector and/or join [email protected]. I'll plan to share info on X and IG as well as more info is available.

Note - no drones were used in the filming of this video, especially since portion of video is in a National Park. (-: I love the Insta360 for the unique viewpoints, and can't wait to get the new X5 version! I have used the X3 for the last few years...
