You probably think that's a typo, right? 😉

Nope, it's not.

For weeks now, I've been pondering what it really means to seek the Kingdom of God. How does it translate to day-to-day life?

Jesus says the Kingdom is "near," "among you," or "within you." When I surrender everything I am and have to God, I become a citizen of the Kingdom of God, and the King(dom) now lives within me.

So why seek something that's already yours?

"Seek" in this context means to pursue, like a longing or desire. Or, as I translate it to myself: to keep. Keeping the Kingdom of God close, like a precious treasure (Matt 13:44).

What do you do with a treasure? Well, for one thing, you don't let it out of your sight!

You keep it close to you, and you definitely don't want to lose it.

It's like that with the Kingdom. It's not just another check on your priority list. It means that in all you do, you now act like a citizen of heaven. Like a friend of God. Not just like a servant, but a friend.

Why? Because "a servant doesn't know his master’s business" (John 15:15). But friendship involves revelation—God revealing His heart, His intentions, His works—for the sake of the friendship.

And with a Friend like that, you don't have to worry about anything (though I remind myself of that every day...😇).

Let all you do and say reflect that you're a friend of God. Only a true friend knows the heart of the Father. If we do that and act like it, then we can truly say the Kingdom of God has arrived here on earth.

It's a big deal to God, this "seeking the Kingdom." How do I know that? Jesus told us He had REALLY been looking forward to this song. (In fact, when I let Jan hear my new song, Jesus joined her and sat beside her; I don't think I've ever witnessed a more reverent moment. I can't describe it; it was beautiful...)

Every time Jesus shows up like that or when we hear Him say things like that, we know we can expect great things and blessings to happen to everyone who will listen (send us your testimonies!).

So, when you listen to this song or watch it on YouTube, stop what you're doing for a minute, invite Jesus to join you, and ask Him to reveal to you what it means to be a friend of God.
