Nasi goreng
Fried rice.

Stir fry noodle.

Ketoprak.
Uniquely Jakarta dish. Ketoprak consists of sliced fried tofu, steamed rice cake (lontong or ketupat), sliced cabbage and cucumber, bihun (thin rice vermicelli), bean sprouts, served in peanut sauce, topped with krupuk and fried shallots. The fried tofu can be considered as the centerpiece of the dish, since it is freshly fried directly after customer placed their order, to ensure its freshness and hotness.
The peanut sauce is made from ground peanut and palm sugar made into a thick paste, mixed with garlic, chili pepper, salt and also kecap manis (sweet soy sauce)

Sate Padang
Speciality satay from Minangkabau cuisine, made from beef cut into small cubes with spicy sauce on top. Its main characteristic is the thick yellow sauce made from rice flour mixed with beef and offal broth, turmeric, ginger, garlic, coriander, galangal root, cumin, curry powder and salt. In Medan, many Sate Padang use not only beef but also chicken, goat, lamb and mutton.


Martabak
Stuffed pancake. There are two types of Martabak: martabak asin (savoury, stuffed with beef) and martabak manis (sweet martabak, usually served as desert stuffed with chocolate sprinkles, peanuts and margarine).


Kue Putu
It consists of rice flour with green pandan leaf colouring, filled with ground palm sugar. This green coconut-rice flour ingredients with palm sugar filling is filled into bamboo tube container. Subsequently, the filled bamboo tubes are steamed upon a steam cooker with small holes opening to blow the hot steam. The cooked tubular cakes then pushed out from the bamboo tube container, and served with grated coconut.


Gado-gado
Indonesian salad of raw, slightly boiled, blanched or steamed veggies and hard-boiled egges, boiled potato, fried tofu and tempeh, and lontong (rice wrapped in a banana leaf), served with a peanut sauce dressing.

Tahu goreng
Fried tofu, best served with green chilli.
