I've been curious about the future of LiFi for a few years now, and with a new set of standards (IEEE 802.11bb and ITU g.vlc) promising the world, how does LiFi stack up against more common WiFi, or is this tech going anywhere?
Currently, LiFi is filling a niche where its particular properties are worth the price - where customers will pay extra for zero RF interference, or are very sensitive to RF security. Maybe someday it can become more mainstream and supplement WiFi in scenarios where interference currently hurts WiFi performance.
