An Easy Way to Begin Improvising With the Minor Pentatonic Scale - simple to advanced ideas

Описание: This piano tutorial shows simple ideas that will help beginning improvisers get started creating music with the minor pentatonic scale, and some more advanced rhythmic ideas. Please don't feel like you need to do everything in the video, just take what inspires you right now and experiment with it. Pause the video at any time and practice on your own.

The beauty of the pentatonic scale is that everything you play will sound pretty consonant and beautiful, there are no notes that will clash. Use pedal to make everything sound even more beautiful.

F minor pentatonic scale:
F Ab Bb C Eb
(If you know your chords, you can think of this as a minor 7th chord with an added 4th.)

The left hand is always playing whole notes, mainly on F.
The tempo I'm playing at is around 120bpm.

I recommend setting a timer for about 5-10 minutes and experimenting with these ideas every day for a few weeks. If it helps, you can think of improv time as a musical meditation practice.
