This hilly six-and-a-half-mile circular walk begins in Ampthill Park, where sweeping views set the tone for an invigorating journey through Bedfordshire’s undulating landscape.
The path leads behind Ampthill Park House, skirting historic grounds before plunging into the serene embrace of King’s Wood, where ancient trees whisper stories of the past. Emerging from woodland, the walk meanders into Ampthill Town Centre, where charming streets and glimpses of local heritage add a lively contrast.
From there, the trail ascends into Cooper’s Hill Nature Reserve, a haven of wildlife and panoramic vistas that reward the climb. As the route circles back to Ampthill Park, the rolling countryside offers a final flourish, an echo of the terrain’s natural beauty and the quiet thrill of a well-trodden path.
