The Supreme Court has said on the Cauvery row that it does not possess the expertise to decide on the aspect of water release and asked the Cauvery tribunal to decide on it. Tamil Nadu had moved the court for the release of 24,000 cusecs of water while Karnataka has said that Tamil Nadu should not be insistent on the release as there is a deficit in rainfall and inflow into reservoirs
