Here is my last film of the BOAC retro 747 whilst still flying in passenger service. Filmed on 13th February 2020 at Heathrow, we see G-BYGC taxiing up from Terminal 5 towards Runway 27 Right, ready to take the BA 213 /callsign BAW 13G to Boston at around 11.40 on a grey rainy morning.
I've included pretty much all of the taxiing footage, as we will never see this aircraft in action again. You'll briefly see "One World" 747, G-CIVZ in the background at the 27R holding point - held up with a delay operating the BA 283 to Los Angeles....Another poignant sight, as this aircraft is now in the process of being scrapped at Newquay airport. Even the airbus A320 (G-EUYC) that takes off ahead of G-BYGC is now stored at Palma de Mallorca.
So take 5 minutes or so out now and watch this Queen of the skies in better times.
