The examples provided in this resource are there to help you consider what educational media genres and are available when you’re designing and sourcing media resources for a fully online unit or course.
Rich media, in particular video and audio are a primary tool for lecture replacement. But beyond replacing the face-to-face experience, rich media can extend students learning experience in new and engaging ways for both blended and fully online.
Like any rich media resource they are most effective when they are aligned with learning and teaching outcomes, good learning design, activities and assessment.
