2025 12 27 The 1st flight of a Neo drone around the driveway of a property in Rotorua, New Zealand.

Описание: Paul's parents bought him a Neo drone for Christmas and on Saturday 27th December 2025, Paul allowed Malcolm, his dad, to use the 'follow-me' function for a walk around our home in Rotorua, New Zealand. Malcolm only walked around the upper part of our driveway but the results were interesting.

Whilst Malcolm took the Neo drone for a walk I, Frances, took a video from behind with my Flip Z phone. So whilst the Neo drone was taking a video, Frances was taking a video of the drone on it's journey.

Sorry about the noise the drone makes and Frances' poor camera-work.

When reviewing the drone video the main thing Frances noted was the drone footage does not show how steep the driveway around the house was, this is probably because the drone adapts to the terrain.

The driveway is at least 1 in 10; much steeper in some parts. You will see in the video that Paul came back to help Frances, during the video because taking a video whilst navigating a steep slope isn't so easy at Frances' age.

The Midgley family really like the Neo drone and can see a number of useful uses for it, especially as Mr & Mrs Midgley get older.
For just 2 examples:
1 Mr & Mrs Midgley can use Neo drone to check their roof; Frances does not like Malcolm going on the roof for maintenance checks now he is nearly 80.
2 The Midgley family's neighbours have large trees that throw down large branches in high winds, blocking the Midgley family driveway and hitting their power-lines. Now the Midgley family can use the drone for pictures to send to Rotorua council without endangering themselves by getting too close to power-lines and downed tree branches.
