T5E Closed-Door Interview- Sports Secretary (Institute) Candidate, Mohd Owais Siddiqui

Описание: In continuation of T5E's Annual Election Closed-Door Interviews, we interviewed Mohd Owais Siddiqui, who is contesting for the post of Institute Sports Secretary.

The questions were:
1. SOC is a new team and lacks structure. It has three teams: PR, media and now content, all responsible for outreach and creating Instagram content. Given the overlapping responsibilities, how would you address any redundancy among these teams?
2. As we prepare to host the Inter IIT sports competition in 2025, what strategies would you implement during your tenure to ensure that all necessary groundwork is laid for hosting it successfully?
3. 30 new students who have won national and international medals for are coming in next year. This means they'll definitely make Contingent. Over the next four years, this number will increase to 120 out of a 180-size contingent, potentially reducing the chances of the average GSB member participating in Inter-IIT competitions significantly. So, it is inevitable that the average GSB member's possibility of going to Inter-IIT will be reduced multifold. Do you have a solution to this, and are you okay with it?
4. Considering the existence of a sports mess program, could you outline the nutritional shortcomings you have identified within the current system? Furthermore, what specific changes do you propose to address these shortcomings? Regarding your suggestion to designate the Cauvery mess as the sports mess, how will the existing Jain and vegetarian mess options be accommodated?
5. How will the proposed Swimming workshop for freshers differ from NSO swimming sessions? Considering that the workshop is likely tailored for complete beginners, how do you anticipate this investment benefiting the Inter-IIT team, particularly if the sessions are conducted weekly? Moreover, if the workshop is indeed for complete beginners, what approach will be taken for the selection process?
