A useful out-of-box checklist for helping ensure your new 121 is good:
1. Check Right and Left Handrails - looking for real damage, broken or sheared off railing mounts that cannot be re-inserted. If hand rails have just popped out they can be re-installed with a little careful handling.
2. Check Front and Rear Vacuum Pipes are in place. These can break in transit.
3. Check DC running Forward and Reverse including all the lights. Check on a rolling road if you can so that you can apply 50% power in order to easily see the lights.

5. Check running in Forward and Reverse directions
6. Turn on lights (F0) and check in forward and reverse directions.
7. Turn on DCC Sound (F1)
