DCC sound demo - 00 Gauge Model CIE 121 class GM loco. ESU LokSound DCC sound decoder programmed by Wheeltappers DCC sound (wheeltappersdccsounds.co.uk). Video clip demonstrates some of the sound projects capabilities and functions. This LokSound V4 project has 'PowerDrive' capability (i.e. ESU FullThrottle mode) which allows coasting/braking and switching between automatic and manual control of notching. F5 can be used to 'lock' the loco at whatever its current speeds is, including stationary, and throttle control then only controls notching sounds of the EMD diesel electric locomotive engine. F5 can be toggled iteratively on/off to simulate heavy trains starting off with poor acceleration causing engine thrashing, and likewise to coasting at speed and simulate long distance braking at idle.
The 121 class model is made from a Shapeways 3D body kit and a 3rd generation Athearn SW1500 chassis with supplementary detailing added.
