A temporary ban has been placed on one of the 11 women who attempted to return to Australia from a camp in north-eastern Syria.
The group were forced to turn around early in their journey home after Syrian authorities wouldn't allow them to continue. The federal government says it will not help the families return.
In 2024, SBS Dateline travelled to al-Roj and spoke with several Australian women, some claiming they were either tricked or coerced to travel to Syria with their husbands, who pledged allegiance to the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) group.
