DHarma acid dyes royal purple 1% dye stock
[8:08] Setting up today's dyebath
12 qt dye pt. Filled 1/2 - 2/3 with cold tap water. (I did not measure the volume, likely around 24 cups of water)
add 500 mL of white vinegar.
25 mL of the 1% royal purple dyestock (about 1 month old stock)
starting cold
[10:44] Adding the roving to the dyepot
I turned on the heat immediately before adding the fiber.
remove some of the water, but the fiber is still dripping when I add it in.
Don't touch or stir once I add it in
heat for 60 min (this lets things heat up and then have 30 min or so of heat)
[13:10] What else could we try?
[15:14] Wait, is it working?
[16:02] After 60 mins
let the fiber cool in the dyebath so I can remove it with my hands
[17:53] washing the fiber
