This video is a full walkthrough all 12 carriages of the train starting in first class walking through standard and ending in the second first class area.

The formation of a 12 carriage class 700/1 are that same as the 8 carriage class 700/0 with an additional 4 trailer/motor carriages. All class 700 have both standard and first class seating. The Desiro City always operate as single 8 or 12 carriage units on Thameslink services. The class 700 are electric and operate of DC south of City Thameslink and on AC north of the City Thameslink in London.

The interior of the class 700 feature 2+2 seating throughout but with first class having wider seats with tables and armrests plus charging points, usually the rear first class section is declassified on Thameslink services and some services have all first class declassified (mainly on local metro routes around London). The trains are fully walkthrough with wide aisles and large standing areas around the wide doors for busy services through the Thameslink core where ATO is often used.

The 700 operate all Thameslink services having replaced the class 319, class 377 and class 387 Electrostar trains on these GTR routes. The 12 carriage versions of the class 700 operate the majority of Bedford to Brighton, Bedford to Three Bridges, Peterborough to Horsham and Cambridge to Brighton routes along with peak time East Grinstead services, most other Thameslink services are formed of 8 carriages. The 8 carriage versions can operate on all Thameslink services but the 12 carriage versions can only operate on certain routes due to infrastructure restrictions.

All the class 700 currently in service with Thameslink are planned to remain with the operator.

Note that this video was filmed in October 2021 on a Peterborough to Horsham service as it departed Littlehaven for the final station of the service where it terminated.
