Professor Christine Loscher talks to us about the Future of Food, and how our eating habits could shape the future.
Professor Christine Loscher is an Immunologist based in the School of Biotechnology at DCU. She leads the Immunomodulation Research Group which has a focus on translating how modulation of the immune response has health benefits. Her focus includes discovering new anti-inflammatory compounds and ingredients that can be used in the pharma and food industry. She has developed significant expertise in commercial research and industry engagement and has secured over €5m in external funding for her own research.
In 2015 DCU appointed Christine as Academic Director of the Health Technologies Research & Enterprise Hub, where her role is to drive the strategic agenda for DCU in the area of Health. She also leads the CHAnge project, which is a DCU Campaign project aimed at raising €20M to realise DCU’s vision for healthy ageing. In 2014 she was named in Silicon Republic’s top 100 Women in STEM. Christine is passionate about communicating the importance of STEM to young girls.
