How to get a Cost-Effective Contract from a Lawyer | QOTD

Описание: Question of the Day: Is it typically more cost-effective to present a lawyer with a contract template to modify with some of your own terms written in (i.e. your rates, refund policy, etc.), or to have the lawyer completely customize the contract with your collaborative input, even if they are most likely using templates to start with themselves?

Before investing the time into trying to create your own contract for a lawyer to review, give them a call and ask if it’s more cost-effective for them to review a contract you create or to create a custom contract for you from scratch. The latter may be cheaper because lawyers often use the same contract provisions for multiple clients.

If legal questions were easy, we wouldn’t need lawyers.
