True success in life comes when you can occasionally practice habits that seem to run against your goals without any fear of negative consequences.
Back in the day, I always felt that any little slip in my diet or a missed workout was cause for retribution. If I ate a candy bar I had to "undo the damage." If I somehow couldn't workout I worried about losing ground. Looking back I know I was just afraid because I wasn't very strong. My habits were not reliable and I wasn't entirely sure what I was doing.
Now my habits are so solid I know I can occasionally "slip up" and it won't hold me back. I'm no longer weak and fearful. Instead I'm strong and durable. I can withstand small set backs because I'm bigger than they they are. They are no longer bigger than me.
