Welcome to The Throwback Series! On Thursdays, I upload train action from the past.
Intro song: "The Sunburn Song" by Semi-Gloss
Decatur Central Railroad ran a light power move Sunday, October 29, 2017, to pick up an empty grain train for loading at Cisco, Illinois. This joint operation between OmniTRAX and Topflight Grain Cooperative succeeded Pioneer Lines' Decatur Junction Railway and before that, was the Illinois Central Railroad's Decatur District to White Heath. Thank you to @kyleb06 who asked a while back if I had any footage from this, as DCC has since shut down and the Decatur & Eastern Illinois Railroad (DREI) now controls the line, but does not have any current business.
TIMESTAMPS:
(0:00) Intro
(0:56) Heading out of Cisco
(1:27) Wooden bridge near Argenta
(1:45) Breezing through Oreana
(2:21) On the "HAC" Line in Decatur
*Scanner conversation between engineer Dave Berndt and Canadian National Grand Avenue yardmaster is overlapped in this clip.*

Director's commentary: All of this has never been seen before on YouTube. I held onto it for so long, because I was expecting to combine it with more footage I would potentially get. They never had a precise "schedule" so it was hard to know when they were moving and as already mentioned above, the railroad is no more.
