Today, we are discussing a topic that is, unfortunately, a reality for many: the inevitable downfall of the Narcissist.
The Narcissist operates with a relentless drive. They are constantly seeking something for themselves, always engaged in activities that involve abusing and manipulating others. They treat individuals as though they are disposable, crumbling them up and discarding them without a second thought. They do not value people for their inherent worth as human beings; rather, they value individuals solely for what they can provide – their Supply.
The decline of the Narcissist typically begins when they become excessively arrogant. They develop an inflated sense of overconfidence. This often leads to them pushing their luck too far, overplaying their hand one too many times. While not exclusively tied to age, this stage frequently occurs when they are somewhat older. You see, the Narcissist moves through life much like a bull in a china shop. They navigate their existence by deliberately dismantling as many relationships as possible.
Ultimately, the Narcissist cares only about themselves. Therefore, when you were involved in a relationship with a Narcissist, you likely had no prior knowledge of narcissism, as this is not a subject commonly taught. And you, being an Empath, gave excessively, to a fault. You consistently extinguished the metaphorical fires that the Narcissist intentionally started. You continued to do more and more for the Narcissist: tolerating their unacceptable behavior, creating excuses for them, overlooking evident red flags, disregarding your own instincts and intuition, and persistently desiring to contribute your utmost effort to the relationship.
