The Toyota 2GR-FE 3.5-liter V6 engine Variable Valve Timing VVT camshaft gears are rarely seen on video. A few videos feature the exhaust cam gear which is relatively easy to disassemble. The intake gear is not easy to disassemble so nobody goes to the trouble. This video includes rarely seen footage of the inside workings of both gears, exhaust and intake. We examine the oil flow passages, the advance and return mechanism, the lock pin, the stops for retard on the exhaust side and advance on the intake side, and other specific features of each gear.
