Описание: Betrayal creates a sense of fear and threat to one's safety/stability. It also can create a profound sense of injustice and resentment. Both experiences are normal and need to be acknowledged and treated when healing from betrayal trauma. Kristin Snowden, MA, LMFT, CDWF is a licensed therapist and coach that specializes in helping individuals and couples in crisis after infidelity, emotional abuse, and/or uncovering addiction. Kristin provides education and treatment options for a common problem that surfaces when someone is betrayed by a trusted loved one: Post-Traumatic Embitterment Disorder (PTED). While PTSD deals with the feelings of fear and lack of safety due to betrayal, PTED is characterized by the extreme feelings of resentment, anger, injustice, humiliation after experiencing betrayal. A betrayed parter would benefit from trauma treatment from years of lies, double-life-living, gaslighting, and emotional abuse by a trusted loved one. However, they'd also benefit from acknowledging and processing the intense sense of injustice.
