(5 Mar 2014) Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said on Wednesday that Crimea "was, is and will be an integral part of the state of Ukraine".
In his first interview since taking office last week, Yatsenyuk said that a task force was needed to look at additional forms of autonomy for the region.
Since last weekend, Russian troops have taken control of much of the peninsula in the Black Sea, where Russian speakers are in the majority.
On Tuesday, Putin said Ukraine's current leaders had come to power as the result of an unconstitutional coup.
In the interview, Yatsenyuk blamed Russia's leader for the current crisis and said Putin was the one acting outside the law.
