Описание: On the sixth day of the Budget Session, Parliament witnessed intense disruptions over the India–United States Trade Deal, both inside and outside the House. The controversy began in the Rajya Sabha during Question Hour, when Congress MP Pramod Tiwari raised sharp questions targeting Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal over the announcement and implications of the trade deal. Responding on behalf of the government, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju defended the Centre’s position and attempted to address the concerns raised by the Opposition.

Meanwhile, in the Lok Sabha, the proceedings resumed at 12 noon after an earlier adjournment, but were immediately disrupted by sloganeering against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Within just three minutes of the House resuming, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal addressed the House on the India–US Trade Deal. He firmly stated that the agreement would not harm Indian farmers or livestock rearers in any manner. Goyal emphasized that the economies of India and the United States are complementary, and the deal is designed to benefit both nations.

However, the Opposition intensified its protest during Goyal’s statement. Speaker Om Birla repeatedly appealed to members to maintain order, but as protesting MPs moved from their seats into the well of the House, the situation escalated. Eventually, the Speaker adjourned the Lok Sabha proceedings until 2 PM.
