Cartagena de Indias public transportion system is called Transcaribe. Riding in the buses is a great way to see the city not only in the touristy places but in the real life and day to day activities of the cartageneros.
There is a Colombian song from a group called "Los Amerindios" that sings that if you want to know the colombian people you should ride on a public urban bus.
Actually I like to do it a lot in every city I visit.
In this country there is a transportion model that is quite the same in all the big cities. The buses have special exclusive corridors where the fleet operates. So you will see buses like these in Bogotá (called Transmilenio), Barranquilla (Transmetro), Cali, Medellín, Pereira, Bucaramanga and some other.
