In August 1952, the village of Lynmouth in North Devon was destroyed overnight by one of the most devastating floods in British history. Homes were swept away, bridges collapsed, and 34 lives were lost.

Officials declared it a natural disaster.

But decades later, declassified government files revealed the existence of Project Cumulus — a secret Royal Air Force cloud-seeding programme operating over southern England in the same period.

Was Lynmouth the victim of nature alone?
