Hidden in the Pines: A Contemporary Home Designed to Live With Nature | House of Landes
House of Landes, designed by Maud Caubet Architects, is a 178-square-meter residence located within a pine forest on the Atlantic coast of France. Completed in 2024 as an extension of an earlier home, the project is conceived as a light, elevated structure that integrates carefully with its natural surroundings. Built using a timber-frame system on a raw concrete base, the house prioritizes environmental responsibility, minimal ground impact, and long-term adaptability. Through its modular composition, restrained material palette, and strong relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces, the design offers a contemporary interpretation of living in close dialogue with the landscape.
