The Lancet Oncology Commission on radiotherapy and theranostics

Описание: Following on from The Lancet Oncology Commission on expanding global access to radiotherapy, The Lancet Oncology Commission on radiotherapy and theranostics aims to assess the current state of access and availability of radiotherapy and address the important issue of access to the promising field of theranostics at a global level. A marked disparity in the availability of radiotherapy machines between high-income, low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs) was previously identified and remains a major problem. Access and availability of radiopharmaceuticals impact theranostics use in many high-income countries and LMICs. The availability of a suitably trained and credentialled workforce has also been highlighted as a significant limiting factor in the effective implementation of radiotherapy and theranostics, particularly in LMICs.

In this Lancet Webinar, authors of The Lancet Oncology Commission discuss action points and investment that could enhance access to radiotherapy and theranostics, particularly in LMICs, to realise health and economic benefits and reduce the global burden of cancer by increasing access to these essential treatments.
