This time I used Rapunzel and Eugene as a base for the kiss scenes because their lip shape fits better that Anna and Kristoff's.

I changed a few aspects of Mateo's enprisonment because it is easier to portay in this video and a limited song time but the outcome is the same.

For the other characters I used the serieses RTTE and Zorro.
Because of copyright I won't mention the names, only that the villians are from RTTE and HTTYD.

One day Elena runs to Mateo's workshop, angry about Esteban's behaviour at the council meeting. Her strong emotions trigger her dormant magic and manifest in ice shooting from her palm.
Mateo helps her with meditating excercises to control the magic and after weeks of study Elena is able to control a candle with her mind only, without having to use her Scepter or a tamborita.
Mateo wants to come to dinner a bit later and finish his potion first. On her way to dinner Elena is attacked by an assasin. She teases the man while swordfighting and her magic gives her extra strength.
In the workshop Mateo hears battlenoises and rushes to the corridor to see Elena fighting. But suddenly she stubles and the man stabs her in the shoulder. Enraged Mateos magic lashes out and he blasts the man away through the corridor. As he watches Elenalaying on the floor unconscous, he realizes he has fallen in love with his best friend - and intends to hide his feelings forever. Elena is supposed to marry a royal one day and he is certain that she doesn't feel the same way about him.
Feeling desperate Mateo tries something new: Healing magic.

When Elena wakes up she feels exhausted, but her shoulder is healed. She thanks Mateo for always being there for her like he promised.
The next day Elena and Mateo go to the Avaloran prison tower to question the assasin. The man tells them that he is no assasin at all, but was ordered by the Kingdom of Malvara to capture Elena alive. Malvara has been closed off for 1000 years and this is the first lifesign in a millenia.

But it isn't the last. shorty after the Malvaran Ambassador arrives in Avalor to negotiate a treaty, which Esteban is extremely happy about. Elena is suspicious, that the kingdom that wanted to capture her is suddenly interested in ties after being shut off from the world for so long.
In honor of the Ambassador's arrivial a Royal Ball is held and despite Esteban's suggestion that Elena should consider marriage options and suitable lords, she spends the whole evening dancing with Mateo.
After the dance they go to the garden and Elena realizes what she tired to deny from herself to stop heartbreak. She is irreversebly in love with Mateo.
Because of the attack Elena is now constantly surrounded by guards, which annoys her to no end. Her mood is going downhill from the ball, after Esteban announces that the treaty includes Elena marrying the Malvaran prince Alejandro.
Enraged and heartbroken Elena storms out of the Council Chamber.

When Alejandro arrives Elena puts up a cheery front, but Alejandro acts either arrogant or disinterested. The Ambassador smiles at the arrival, seemingly enjoying the unfurling of his secret plan.
Mateo watches, fingering his necklace.
He remembers the evening before Alejandro's arrival. Elena shared a picnic as a last chance to spend time together. She promised to marry Mateo if and when the Malvaran treat vanishes and they should all make it through. As a proposal gift she gives Mateo a necklace that serves as a magic transmitter, in case Mateo finds himself without his tamborita.
