Starbucks Bacon Gouda
Frittata patty:
4 large eggs
1/4 cup skim milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp coarse black pepper
4 tsp water
2 tsp cornstarch
1/3 cup Monterey Jack cheese, grated finely
1 1/2 tbs parmesan, grated finely
Soybean oil, to brush on egg pan
Sandwich:
Sliced Gouda
Uncured bacon
Sourdough Ciabatta rolls
Soybean oil, to brush on ciabatta rolls
Preheat oven to 350.
Slice the bacon strips in half to make shorter strips. Bake at 350 for about 15 minutes, or until desired level of crispiness is achieved.
Whisk 4 eggs until smooth. Whisk in milk and strain. Whisk in salt and pepper. In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth. Add to egg mixture. Stir in cheeses.
Brush egg pan with oil to prevent sticking. Pour egg mixture into egg pan. Fill about 3/4 of the way to the top*.
Bake at 350 for about 10-15 minutes, or until the eggs are fully set in the center. Add slice of Gouda while it is still hot.
Brush oil on inside half of ciabatta rolls and toast them on a hot pan.
Assemble by placing frittata on bottom piece of the ciabatta roll. Top with 4 slices of bacon. Top with top bun.
Note: Frittata will expand while baking, but it will deflate.
