The United States Core Data for Interoperability (USCDI) is a set of data expectations for data exchange. This includes elements expected to be shared and also terminology requirements. It is updated annually and the leading list of what data classes and elements can be expected in routine information exchange in the United States.
The USCDI gets implemented through standards guidance from Health Level Seven (HL7). The two HL7 standards that match data expectations to USCDI are the FHIR US Core Profiles and the Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture (C-CDA).
