"The Engineering Construction Industry Association, known as the ECIA, is a member-led association that provides a collective voice for employers within the Engineering & Construction Industry. The ECIA works with all stakeholders, including the Unions. This unique agreement encourages good Industrial Relations, and increased communication which in turn enables safe, productive working on site. Leading to the successful delivery of major projects to Owners, clients and operators.

The National Agreement for the Engineering Construction Industry - the NAECI - provides an effective and transparent framework that aids members in achieving their program or project, safely, on time and on budget. The National Joint Council has the ultimate responsibility for determining all future revisions of the NAECI and ECIA as the Employer Association aids in the correct application of the agreement's terms to employers' projects. ECIA members are global and national companies, involved in both new construction and repair and maintenance projects in the UK as well as overseas. The international EPC companies based in the UK and the main employers of site-based craft employees and many smaller subcontractors."
