Surviving Spiritually | Changed Through Jesus Christ

Nelson warned, “In coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost.” By heeding the loving counsel of the Holy Ghost, Casi and Hans discovered they would not only survive, but their marriage and their family would thrive.

There may be difficult times when you’re required “to righteously hang on and outlast the devil” (Ezra Taft Benson). Struggle is part of the plan. Staying close to the Lord by keeping His commandments, serving His children, studying His word, and speaking with Him in prayer regularly will sharpen your spiritual senses so you can hear the Holy Ghost and be strengthened and comforted by Him. This will allow you to survive during phases of life when holding on is the best you can do. Through obedience and in the Father’s perfect timing, He will lead you out of the shadows and into the bright light of Christ again.

No matter your condition and no matter conditions upon this earth, Heavenly Father’s plan is first to save you from death through the Atonement of His Son, and by this provide you eternal joy and exaltation in His kingdom—beginning right now, within your mortal life. Following Jesus Christ each day will help you survive each day and give you joy each day, no matter what your trials.

We all have room to improve our obedience to the Lord. By small and steady degrees, we can persevere through whatever comes, always rejoicing in His mercy! Trust Him and turn to Him, every day.
