This video captures a hike to Piz Boè (3,152 m), the highest peak of the Sella group in the Italian Dolomites. I started the route by taking the Funivia Sass Pordoi cable car from Passo Pordoi up to about 2,950 meters. From there, I descended to the Forcella Pordoi saddle, where there's a mountain hut. I chose the southern route to the summit, which includes a short and easy via ferrata with a steel cable. At the top, I was rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views in all directions and a visit to Rifugio Capanna Piz Fassa, one of the highest huts in the Dolomites.
The descent was via the northern side, passing Rifugio Boè, and then back beneath the summit toward the saddle and cable car. Near the upper cable car station, there is a rock window and dramatic cliffs with stunning views. Piz Boè is a popular destination thanks to its easy access and elevation, offering a true high-mountain experience without a technically difficult climb.
