It’s common to hear someone say the phrase, “this is a democracy” however, have you ever stopped to think about what that really means? Are you able to confidently say that you practice and experience a true democracy? Mark Friesen discusses the the need to take part in alternative forms of democracy to reveal the overall shift this can have on how our society functions. We are responsible to the world we live in and must seek opportunities to create a fully democratic world.
Mark Friesen is the consulting manager at Vantage Point, where he assists not-for-profit organizations throughout BC with strategic planning, governance, and capacity building.
