How can organisations better prepare for disaster with their cloud infrastructure? From COVID to Cloudstrike, it is inevitable that in today’s cloud landscape we will face disasters of all shapes and sizes, and the challenges they create. We’ve all heard of ‘shift left’ in relation to security and testing. What if we include disaster mitigation to that list? In the limited time available, this talk aims to outline a few simple disaster recovery strategies every team can put in place to mitigate against some of the most common DR issues. Terraform will be used as part of this demonstration, showcasing IaC as a key player in organisations’ preparedness for disaster, with some real life examples.
