Описание: In this talk I first describe the waterfall Gullfoss and explain how its two main steps and the main canyon are all related to earthquake fractures, faults. I show that the same types of faults also control the shapes of many hyaloclastite mountains in South Iceland. Then I explain the formation of the crater Kerið, the historical importance of the eruption of the lava flow Svínahraunsbruni (Kristnitökuhraun), and finally the Rauðhólar pseudocraters (rootless craters).
