Описание: I wrote these lyrics on January 16, 2026. Lately, I've been thinking about my childhood, especially the years that began in the 1970s. I turned ten in 1970, and those years hold some of my most vivid and meaningful memories. Back then, days were spent outside. I rode my bike everywhere, disappeared to friends’ houses, called home to say I was eating there, and knew that when the streetlights came on, it was time to get home. Anyone who grew up during that time probably knows exactly what I mean. It wasn’t really freedom; it was just the way life was.

As I thought about those years, I thought about my parents. I miss them deeply. That part of my life, and having them in it, shaped who I am today. It made me stronger than I ever realized at the time.

That reflection led me to the idea of butterflies. As children, we chase butterflies without thinking. We dream, pretend, imagine, create stories, play with dolls and trucks, and let our imagination lead the way. When we’re that young, imagination is our guide.

As we grow older, life transforms us. The butterfly becomes a symbol of that change. A caterpillar has no idea it will one day become a butterfly. When I look back at myself at ten years old, riding my bike and chasing butterflies, I had no concept of who I would be at this age. Writing this now at 65, I can say with certainty that life transformed me, just as it does all of us.

Along the way, life teaches us about time. About moments. About being fully present with the people in front of us. About letting everything else fall away without effort, simply because the moment matters.

This song brought me back to where I am now, as a grandmother. When I have the chance to play with my grandchildren, it feels like an honor. In those moments, I’m not thinking about anything else. I’m simply there, fully present, chasing butterflies again.
